Birding Guides
Kristy Gallo
As a Michigan Native, Kristy grew up in a family with a passion for nature and birds, spending countless hours camping, canoeing, hiking, and birding throughout the country. She is currently the co-caretaker of Ash Canyon Bird Sanctuary where she helps to continue the legacy of Mary Jo Ballator and enjoys showing visitors from all over the world the beautiful birds of southern Arizona. She also competed in powerlifting for over 20 years and broke the world record in the bench press in 2012 and then again in 2013.
A personal note from your hostess:
I have learned so much about our local birds from Kristy and her partner, Tim Blount. Kristy is a skilled By Ear Birder and is a pleasure to bird with. She really has a knack for getting you on the bird!
